With reddish-purple skin, red bananas are smaller in size than the common yellow bananas. They are very nutritious and make a good addition to your diet. These are generally imported from Asia, South America and East Africa but are consumed all around the world. Consumption is either raw, fried, toasted or baked. They are also known as the red dacca bananas.

How are Red Bananas different from their Yellow Banana cousins?

Strengthens Immune System: Red bananas are rich in water soluble vitamin C which is important the immune system and collagen production. A medium sized red banana can meet upto 15% of your daily vitamin C needs. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant which protects white blood cells from the chemicals they release to kill pathogens while also helping reduce risks of certain types of cancers.
